Hoverspot.com surprises with some outstanding features. HoverSpot has been around for a while, about 5 years actually, so I thought it was time to do a review. There have been many social startups but this one has stuck around even since the global takeover by Facebook. At first glance Hoverspot has the same features you'd expect to find on a social networking web site. However the Contests area is a welcome change. Members can enter photo contests to compete for cash, prizes or status within the site. The membership base feels more focused on meeting new people rather than managing your existing friends like on Facebook. This is a welcome aspect for many who are reluctant to use Facebook for dating or meeting new friends due to Facebooks track record with privacy issues and the watchful eye of their existing contacts.
It's nice to see there is still some competition out there and we look forward to seeing what else Hoverspot has to offer.
